It was cold, it was windy but it was an absolutely breathtaking afternoon at Elbow falls. The sun came out to kiss Euniz’s arms and she looked absolutely stunning! We did this shoot in a half hour due not only due to the cold but when the sun goes behind the mountains in Kananaskis country the light is gone! I wish we cold have had at least another half hour to run around on the rocks but regardless we still managed to get some beautiful shots. Euniz thank you for all of the goosebumps that you endured. You were freezing but you still managed to make it look easy. You are amazing and I love you to bits! xox Shawna

This day was one of the most beautiful days in Calgary. I love to be able to capture the fall colours. As you can imagine I am always a happy camper when yummy light comes out to play and play we did! It’s not every day you get light like what we had on their session. Megan & Shaun are just darling and oh so kind! Shaun is just that right amount of shy….the kind where it’s just adorable. Megan is funny, confident, collected and smart! As you can tell by the pictures they are SO MUCH FUN! They make a great team together and to top it off they are going to solidify their love in Newfoundland! Thank you Megan & Shaun. We had an amazing time running around Fish Creek Park!  Jane & Daniel are just lovely not to mention absolutely gorgeous.  Honest to goodness, these two are about as sweet, thoughtful and genuine as they come.

The trees have turned to their fall colours and it makes for beautiful photography.  So I am going to continue to enjoy this perfect fall season while I can, taking it all in, pumpkin spice candles and all.  I am fortunate enough to have met these two and I can’t wait to shoot their wedding in 2012!  Lots of love…Shawna

Jenna & Terry have hearts of gold. They are gracious, kind and love life and people and appreciate a good dose of sarcasm which I love. These two are so darling. Jenna is that thoughtful caring type who listens well and speaks from her heart. Terry is charmingly fun-loving and doesn’t take life too seriously. They are just as sweet as can be. I felt so honored to be a part of their wedding. It was our last wedding of the year and what a great way to end it! These two have become friends to me through this whole process and I just adore them.

Although the sun was out for their wedding day, the fall greeted us with all it’s blustery cold! That didn’t stop them from enduring the goosebumps and by going to the top of a parking garage! They had the attitude of “anything for the shots” and I love that about them. We were lucky enough to catch the perfect “sweet” light….just before the sun set. It made for some stunning photography! Heather & Stefan are wonderful! Heather is such an incredible lady. She’s funny as heck, passionate, creative and driven. She found a knock out guy to call hers. Stefan is such an incredible guy; funny, charming, down to earth and loyal. These guys are quite the pair.

Ahh where do I start with this wedding. Fist off I was Miss Puddles during their ceremony. It’s amazing how well I have come to be able to see and shoot through tears! Heather & Stefan were married at the Calgary Chamber of Commerce building. It’s the first time I have photographed a wedding there and what beautiful place to get married & host a reception. The building is amazing and full of old charm & character. All of their friends and family were delightful. Heather, Stefan & their family put in a lot of love & care into the decor of the reception and it was playful, whimsical & fun. They did it their way, which is the magic the best weddings are made of.

We felt so honored to be a part of this special day. The world doesn’t make them better than these guys. What a great thing to celebrate in on of the most beautiful buildings in Calgary. Thank you Heather & Stefan! I will never forget this wedding and I am so glad to have met & spent time with you both. Lots of love – Shawna.

Wendy and Steve were married at the Lougheed House on a beautiful Friday in Calgary.  I had such a wonderful time working with these two.  They are down to earth, easy going, and sweet people to the core.  These two put their stamp on their day.  It was clean, classy and beautiful and fit them to a tee.  Wendy is a positive, bubbly and a very classy woman.  She reminds me of Grace Kelly through and through.  Steve’s eyes reminds me of Paul McCartney!

Their friends and family were simply adorable.  Overall there were some of the nicest people you could imagine all in one place!  Thank you for sharing your special day with me.  I will never forget it!  Lots of love – Shawna

Brianna & Pat are the type of couple that walk in a room and light up the place. They have big hearts, big smiles & big personalities. It’s like in high school when you have that beautiful couple that everyone wants to be around… that is Brianna & Pat, people just gravitate to them.

Friends & Family traveled far and wide to be with them on their big day. They even had a close family friend drive their beautiful antique Bentley all the way from Vancouver! Wow! This wedding had some of the funniest people in the world all in one place for the evening. During some of the photographs they even had a quirky smile called the BANANA! I have never laughed so hard at a wedding in my entire life. Pat’s best man honestly gave the most epic toast I have ever experienced, people were rolling. By the end of the night my abs had a full work out and my cheeks burned from laughing so hard. This was a true group of funny wonderful people.

Brianna & Pat’s family treated everyone like family. They were warm, caring and truly joyful. I can’t say enough about the amazing quality of people at this wedding. Hearts of gold… each and every one of them!! When I left the wedding I gave Brianna a big hug and told her that this was my favourite wedding thus for 2011…and I meant it! Thank you Brianna & Pat. We drove up to Moraine Lake during one of the most beautiful weekends this summer. Janna is a good ole’ Canadian girl and she managed to steal the heart of Chris whom is born and bred in Australia! Of course he followed her home and it led to this beautiful wedding. Janna & Chris are beautiful people who are gracious, compassionate, down to earth and totally thoughtful.
