Meet the fabulous Britt & Pierre. They are fun, colourful, energetic, full of laughter & down to earth. Honest to goodness, these two are about as sweet, thoughtful & genuine as they come and WOW they are so in love! Spending the afternoon with them was fabulous. Thankfully these two enjoy winter as much as I do & wanted to do their engagement when it was chilly on the campus of Sait. I can’t wait to photograph their wedding in Lake Louise this year! These two came into town for their engagement session all the way from Edmonton and we had an absolute blast with them. Britt is sweet, a thinker, smart, not afraid to make fun of herself & definitely my kind of gal. Pierre is the funny guy, confident, collected and smart. He loves colour and loves his cars even more!! These two are just incredible & I had a ton of fun making magic with them on their engagement shoot. Meet Nicole & David equal total awesomeness. First of all they are totally beautiful. These two are cool and they know how to keep it real! They make this world better just by being on it. We are planning on two shoots. Originally the idea was to have their session at elbow falls but as soon as David casually told me he had a Farrari in the garage….well we HAD to include it in their shoot. How would I describe this couple: Part urban and part in tune with nature. This is why it is imperative to do two shoots to show both sides of who they are!

We all know that weddings are “the main event”, but a good warm up is vital for a star performance on your big day. What do we mean by warm up … your engagement photo’s of course! I absolutely love engagement sessions, it’s usually our first time really getting to interact with you guys behind the lens, we laugh, we have fun, and we leave the session even more excited to see you guys again. Did we just become friends? Yup. When we schedule your engagement session we’ll throw around ideas for locations, style, and the theme of your shoot … we love it when couples tell us they trust our creativeness but we want the session to fit “you”. The more it fits you guys as a couple then the more comfortable you will feel in front of the lens, from what you wear to what you do. I love setting up poses & shooting at new locations! And some helpful hints to make your engagement session perfectly you

1. Be comfortable … like we said before wear clothes you are comfortable in and especially shoes as sometimes we do a bit of walking to get to that perfect location. Guys you can look cool and comfortable too!
2. Be yourself! The most fun pictures are the natural ones … make each other laugh, be silly, and have fun! Except of course this shoot where is simply demanded and edgy look!
3. Be sweet with each other. Yes we want you to have fun but take a moment during your session to just enjoy each other. This is an hour of your life that you will have documented for all of time in photographs, so sit back, smile, and soak up the moment together.
4. Bring things that mean something to your relationship! Maybe it’s a football rivalry, a line from your favorite song, or maybe your both just a little nerdy. Whatever it is … bring it, we’ll use it, and even if no one else gets it … the important thing is you both do!
5. Be open and ready to have a good time! I am always excited for every shoot and we hope you will be too. And if your a good jumper … let us know. It could be the difference between a good jump …
6. Last but not least … LOVE your photographer!

Meet Carly and Craig!  They are genuine, down to earth and very fun to be around!  Oh yes, and did I say organized!  When we met Craig he was already starting his Christmas shopping!  Mike and I had an amazing time gallivanting around Inglewood.  These two are in love and they wear it on their sleeves.  They are so easy to be around too!  The conversation is never ending.  When we first met at our studio we hit it off immediately which is so important.  We all love dogs and we also live a few blocks away from each other.  How perfect is that!

Meet Caroline & Chris! They are fun, smart, serious but funny! I have been to Ibiza and so have they! I love their taste in clothes, music and overall I really like them! We ended up getting together twice to finish their engagement session. On the first shoot we were on our way down to Elbow Falls. We mad a pit stop by the bridge so that we could take some cool urban shots using our new ring flash and by the time we were done the sun was going down. Chis (aka Mr Mario Andretti) tried his best to chase after the sun so we could continue our shoot but it was too late! Take two! The second day was sooooo worth it. We went to a park near where they live in the NW and the light was stunning! The problem with sweet light is it only lasts for maybe 45 minutes. I wish it lasted for hours!!! Mind you we wouldn’t call it the “sweet light” if it did. Thank you Caroline & Chris. I had an amazing time and I can’t wait for your wedding day! Lots of love – Shawna

Jenna & Terry have are thoughtful, caring, funny and don’t seem to take life too seriously. They are super laid back and it came across in their photographs. It was a beautiful day to galavant around Inglewood looking for neat spots to shoot! Thank you Jenna & Terry! I am really looking forward to their wedding of which is only TWO WEEKS AWAY!

Calgary weather has been pretty beautiful so it’s becoming pretty torturous to sit in front of the computer for 10 hours a day trying to play catch up with edits, but i am getting there! I am in a constant state of pasty Vitimin-D deficiency but I can justify long hours editing in the office because I love what I do. Lots of love – Shawna

Steph & Paul live in the moment, laugh freely, take the road less traveled, they are free spirits who love life. I am lucky to have had the honour of meeting these two lovely souls.

These two bring out the best in one another and are laughing constantly. I wanted to capture that pure joy & that freedom in their childlike spirits. So much so that I was pretty pumped and I ran out in the middle of the street to take some photos. Until of course I was warned by a Calgary police officer that I was going to get hit by a car! “Please stay off the road”. All I could think to myself was “BUT SIR……. I NEED TO GET THE SHOT!!” Anything for that shot!

I know! I know! I know! I blogged a ton of photographs but again I just couldn’t help myself. You see I love these two. They are not only wonderful friends they are wonderful peeps!

Euniz & Abe are some of the most humble and kind people that I have ever met. They are rich with soul and their roots are deep. They are those extra gracious people that are especially thankful for everything that they get in life. Euniz feels like a friend I have had for a long time. She laughs a lot and is always smiling, I love that about her. Abe is honourable and kind. He has a soft heart that reaches out to many. I am proud to know these two.

When we got together to photograph their engagement session it was one of those days where I just wanted to go outside lay in the grass and just bask in it! I got to do something even better that day and shoot these two amazing love birds. As I was running around in the fields I couldn’t help but think about how thankful I am that I get to do this….. that I get to tell love stories of people like Euniz & Abe… that I get to love on people and frolic and be a little kid for my JOB! I couldn’t have felt more fulfilled in that moment running around in that sun-kissed field that afternoon with these two. They wedding day is just around the corner and I plan to wear waterproof mascara because I am going to need it! Enjoy a few snaps from our outing. Lots of love – Shawna

These guys are thoughtful, caring, funny and don’t take life too seriously. They are super laid back and have a total love for life and people. When I’m with them I laugh a whole heck of a lot. I’m so thankful for couples like these two that roll with the punches and go with the flow.

As you can tell by the photographs shooting them felt so effortless, they just mesh together. After sharing this wonderful afternoon with them for their engagement session I feel like I left with two new, amazing friends. Sara & Drew make me happy. Straight up happy. Drew is the life-of-the-party-make-everyone-laugh type who has an amazing sense of humor! Sara is the biggest sweetheart you could meet and is a petite little thing. She has a fantastic sense of personal style and I think she is just drop dead gorgeous They love each other to pieces. It’s cute as heck. We had a blast running around Inglewood for their engagement session a couple weeks ago.

I am thankful that I connected with these two. They have a lot of love to give to the world and the world is simple a better place with them doing what they do best….making everyone smile!

Meet the fantastic Natalie & Kevin. They are sweet as pie. These two make each other laugh easily and have so much fun together. These two were troopers on their couples session as it was SOOOO chilly outside! When we first started shooting it started to hail, then rain, then finally sun!

The weather didn’t bother us one bit! You see Natalie & Kevin are like eating a yummy perfectly sweet biscotti on a Sunday morning. They are delightfully charming together and they make you feel all warm and fuzzy inside just by being around them. These two are not engaged yet. Natalie wanted and couples session to celebrate their love with photographs and boy did we ever! Right now they are in Europe having a blast!
