Albums
Why have an wedding album? Isn’t a disc all I really need? First let me say this – all of our clients receive a disc. That’s right, you’ll receive a disc with the final edit of your images (usually 400-900 + images) for archival purposes. With a disc, we provide you with a license to reproduce those images for your personal use. If that’s the case, it’s fair to ask ‘why would you really need anything else?’I believe so strongly that every single couple should have a high-quality wedding album, that every wedding commission we photograph includes an album credit. Every single client gets an album. It’s that important. Here’s why:
The art of print! Your photographs are intended to be presented as professional prints. A print is the end result of a photograph. A digital file is simply a negative. If your photographer shot your wedding on film, you wouldn’t be satisfied with just the negatives would you? They wouldn’t be especially useful to you.
A print, on the other hand, is a work of art. It’s been retouched, enhanced, processed, and essentially “developed.” Creating photographic prints is a skill that separates professionals from amateurs. All of our albums are crafted with real photographic prints.
A wedding album will last hundreds of years when cared for properly. It holds its value and is your very first family heirloom. It is meant to be viewed and shared for generations. The quality and craftsmanship of a professional album is meant to be around for far longer than any of us.
Finally, your wedding album tells your wedding story in a way that nothing else can. Loose prints only capture a moment. Your disc with hundreds or thousands of images is simply raw, unedited footage (so to speak), and lacks the storytelling that an album provides. Looking through that many images is overwhelming. It might be nice to have for your peace of mind, but it lacks the narrative that exists in an album. When created by a professional, a wedding album captures your story so that you can share the emotion, the experience, the memories from your wedding day. Finally, it’s unlikely that in 25 years, you’ll even be able to read the DVD or CD those images are on. With the speed that technology changes, it’s certain to be a challenge for all of us to back up and maintain files for decades to come. It’s great to have access to your digital files, but it requires diligence to be sure you’ve created a copy every five years on whatever is the most commonly accepted form of storage media.A wedding album, on the other hand, is timeless. It will never be out of style, and you’ll always be able to share your story. And really, the entire purpose of having your wedding photographed- is to share your story. album comes in several sizes and is bound in your choice of genuine leather or metal. We have a beautiful selection of flush style albums can accommodate up to four images per page and are designed by shawna and our graphic design artist. We will create a truly one of a kind album that you will be able to view on-line before you purchase.

As I am sure most of you are aware the republic of Haiti was hit with a magnitude 7.0 earthquake on Tuesday, January 12th. Most of the necessities of life, such as food, shelter and water have been reduced to near nothing and the poor country is now struggling with rescue efforts and the dispersal of much-needed supplies and aid. They have very little to work with. It’s easy to feel separated from things like this based on geography, but it doesn’t mean we’re not all in this together. Every bit counts. Calgary area residents can assist with the relief effort for Haiti by donating to the local Red Cross through redcross.ca or toll-free at 1-800-418-1111. The Belleville office of the Canadian Red Cross is accepting direct donations to the Haitian relief effort, as well. Wal-Mart Canada also launched Project Haiti Relief to raise money for the Canadian Red Cross Haiti Earthquake fund. Starting today, all Wal-Mart stores will be accepting donations for the fund. The chain launched the campaign by making a $100,000 donation. The Salvation Army in Canada is sending $100,000 USD and a fundraising campaign has begun to support the humanitarian response. Contributions can be made to the Salvation army relief efforts in Haiti, by calling 1-800-725-2769 or by visiting www.SalvationArmy.ca My heart goes out to you, Haiti. We here at Infinite Images donated via the Canadian Red Cross. It was simple and quick to do. My heart goes out to you Haiti. – Shawna

At Infinite Images we offer engagement sessions for every wedding couple. An engagement session is a great way for us to get to know each other before the wedding photo shoot. Some people can feel awkward if we have only met you once briefly at your booking appointment! It’s important that you are comfortable with our style and we know you on a personal level so your wedding images can truly reflect your personalities and your relationship. Because our wedding approach is centered around capturing authentic, “real” moments, anything we can do to help you feel more comfortable around us helps. We usually devote at least 90 minutes and then if you have time we will go for coffee! This gives us time to listen to your story of your love! It also gives us time to hear you talk about how you envision your wedding which will gives us a clear understanding of the story we’ve been commissioned to capture. In addition to understanding the story, the time spent in an engagement session helps us build a relationship. As a wedding photographer, we are with you for almost every important moment on your wedding day. Because we’ve taken the time to invest in you – and build a relationship – we’re able to blend into the environment, and do our best to serve you best. We include the images with the wedding gallery, and it’s an opportunity for you to personalize things like you invitations, save the dates, guest autograph books, or signature mats.
Overall it’s about having FUN!
Thank you Claire and Dustin for letting me capture your love for each other and kayaking! We are looking forward to photographing your big day this upcoming February 14th! Shawna
