Sometimes in life you get a freebie. A ’show up and shoot and everything’s perfect’ kind of gift from the universe, and all you have to do is remember to say thank you. THAT was the kind of day that we had with Katie & Russell. Everything was perfect, from the location to the light, the theme, and the couple. The day went perfectly and fit perfectly. It was the kind of wedding where you can shoot for 16 hours before you realize that you’re even tired. Because it’s easy and fun and there is beauty everywhere you look. It is at a wedding like this, that you are reminded why it is exactly that you have the best job on earth. Katie & Russell, thank you for inviting Judith and I to share your beautiful day, your families, and, more importantly, your love. The weather was beautiful and they were surrounded by family and friends.  Time went by so quickly; from walking down the aisle, to sharing vows with quotes from Robert Munsch, the “I do’s”, to the photo shoot with family and the bridal party. The reception came and quickly went. Even though the tears have dried, the smiles still remain, and they will always have the memories of the best day of their lives. Katherine & Curtis, thank you for reminding me what true love looks like. Thank you for allowing Aaron and I to be a part of your special day and we can’t wait to hear of all the amazing things the future holds for you! Much love and appreciation! Shawna

Kelly & Len were introduced by her bridesmaid  Marcie.  Marcie kept telling Kelly about this fabulous guy named Len of whom she just had  meet!  Unfortunately each time they went out, either Len or Kelly wouldn’t be available.  FINALLY  as luck may have it they were out at the same time but Kelly didn’t realize that this was “Len”!  So as the night progress she was talking to “this guy” and somewhere deep in the conversation Kelly finally asked his name and he said “Len”.  Kelly said “I’m supposed to meet you!”.  They talked the night away and Len gave Kelly her phone number.  They started dating and 6 months into the relationship Len invited Kelly to go to Costa Rica with his parents.  Kelly and Len both share a love of animals and spent a lot of time in the national parks.  Their next trip was to Kenya! The year after that they celebrated the birth of their beautiful daughter, Justine.  It was natural that they were married at the zoo! Thank you Kelly and Len! Your passion and sincerity for life and each other is contagious and I was extraordinarily honored to be a part of your wedding day. I wish you nothing but happiness, joy, and contentment for eternity! Much love and appreciation….Shawna

Mina & Jeremy met while working together life guarding at an outdoor pool the summer after she finished high school. It was a season full of fun & flirting! Mina would then attend university in the fall and Jeremy was already studying finance at the U of C. He was 23 at the time and she adored him as she felt he was very funny and nice. But she also felt that he wouldn’t be interested in her as she was almost 5 years younger.

Well age wasn’t a hurdle after all!  They ended up going on a “sort-of date” after the pool closed just to chat and look at pictures from their time together. They had lots of fun and magic was in the air. They talked for hours and realized they were a match made in heaven. So much so they have set a date to express their love in June 2010 to family and friends. Congratulations guys! I can’t wait for your big day!

Sarah & Enoch had a truly unique and beautiful ceremony recently which I was honored to have documented .   Their ceremony was held at the Chinese Pentecostal Church before the heat of the day really took hold, and after a romantic walk through the park at Lake Sundance the celebration continued back at the Glenmore Inn. Sarah & Enoch I felt so incredibly happy to commemorate your lives together and I can’t wait to see what the future holds for the both of you.  Much love and appreciation! Shawna
